How are ancestral land rights overridden for mining projects?
#1
I’ve been trying to understand what it really means for a community to have a right to their ancestral lands, but I keep hitting a wall. My own government acknowledges the principle in treaties, yet when a mining project was approved on disputed territory last month, that legal recognition seemed to vanish. How does a documented right just get set aside when resources are found?
