How can i bypass paste blocks in password fields when using a password manager?
#1
I’ve been trying to get better about using a password manager for everything, but I keep running into websites that have weird character limits or block pasting into the password field. It makes the whole process feel clunky and less secure, since I end wanting to just create a simpler password I can type manually. Has anyone else dealt with this and found a decent workaround?

Yep, that paste blocker frustration is real. I keep a long password in my vault, but on sites that block pasting I type a memorized passphrase that's unique per site. Not perfect, but I can usually get through in under 15 seconds, and then the autofill fills the rest for me. It feels clunky, but I'm not reusing the same weak password.

Sometimes I just give up on autopilot for that site and use a shorter, site specific password that still isn’t reused, then rely on autofill elsewhere.

Maybe the real problem isn't paste blocking at all, maybe the login flow itself is the blocker; I’ve started checking which fields are easy to fill and even tried a hardware key for big accounts, which helped in a few places but not everywhere.

Have you tried tailoring your approach per site, like using a simple but unique pattern for some and a fully random password for others?
