How can i cut screen time without feeling left out?
#1
I’ve been trying to cut down on my screen time, but every time I do, I feel like I’m missing out on something important or falling behind socially. It’s like this constant low-grade anxiety that I can’t shake, even when I know logically it’s probably fine to disconnect. Has anyone else felt this push and pull?

Yeah, I’ve felt that push and pull hard. I tried muting most notifications and kept only a couple of people in the loop. It helped a bit, but that feeling of missing out would creep back at night when the phone was quiet.

I tried to cut down and the anxiety still showed up even when nothing new happened. I started a short walk after work and swapped 20 minutes of scrolling for a chapter of a real book. It helped a little, but it's not a clean fix.

Do you think maybe the real problem is the habit of looking for validation online rather than the time itself?

Sometimes I just tell myself to check in every few hours instead of every minute. It reduces the itch, but I still worry I’m missing something important and it keeps me second guessing.
