How can i dim a car's digital instrument cluster at night without losing info?

I just got a new car with a fancy digital instrument cluster, but I’m finding the constant glow and animations at night a bit distracting. Has anyone else felt this way, and did you find a good setting to tone it down without losing the important info?

Yeah I felt it too. I lowered the cluster brightness and turned off some of the fancy transitions. It still shows speed and warnings and the glow is much calmer now.

I turned on night mode with auto dim, but sometimes it felt too dark on back roads. I kept auto dim but set a fixed low level so the display stays readable without the constant glow.

I played with color choices as well. A warmer amber palette made it easier on my eyes than bright white. The warnings still pop when they should.

I am not sure this is the real problem for me. Maybe it is windshield glare or how the glass reflects the lights. Could it be that the real issue is glare rather than the display itself?
