How can i fix battery drain on 5G while browsing?
#1
My new phone’s battery seems to drain incredibly fast when I’m just browsing on 5G, even with a strong signal. I expected better endurance from a modern flagship, but it feels like I’m losing about 20% per hour with just casual use. Has anyone else noticed this kind of drain specifically on mobile data?

Yeah I noticed something similar when I switched to 5G last year. I’d be browsing for 20 minutes and the battery would drop noticeably fast, even with a decent signal. It felt like the modem was constantly chasing data or something.

I tried a few things: restrict background data for apps, turned off auto switching to the faster network, and forced LTE for a day, and the battery life improved a bit in real world use.

Maybe the issue isn’t the data network at all. On some days the display brightness, notifications, or a couple of apps staying awake can eat a lot, and you only notice it when you’re on the data network.

Question: do you have any one app that keeps updating in the background or a recent update that changed battery stats? Just wondering if the problem is the real cause.
