How can I fix micro-stutters for Cyberpunk on a Ryzen 7 7800X3D with RTX 4080?

I just built a new rig with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and an RTX 4080 Super, but I’m getting these weird, occasional micro-stutters in demanding games like Cyberpunk even though my average framerate is high. I’ve checked my thermals and they seem fine, and I’m using a high-refresh-rate monitor with G-Sync. I’m wondering if it’s something in my Windows power plan or a background process causing these hitches.

I ran into this after my build too. For me the switch that helped was forcing a high performance power setup and locking the GPU clocks with the NVIDIA driver setting to Prefer maximum performance. The little blips dropped once clocks stayed steadier, even though the frame rate looked fine.

I also keep Defender from wandering in the background during gaming. I noticed a hiccup when a scan kicked in. I paused real-time protection and moved scans to off-hours for a while; the hiccups became less noticeable, though I wouldn’t call it a cure.

Part of me wonders if it's just frame pacing with G-Sync and a fast monitor. Even with a high average FPS, if the frame times spike a bit, you feel it. Could be the game’s engine or the driver doing a wobble with the 7800X3D; hard to pin down.

Have you tried disabling Game Mode and testing with Ultimate Performance to see if anything changes?
