How can I get my smart lights and thermostat to sync in the same routine?
#1
I’ve been trying to get my smart lights and thermostat to work together through a single routine, but the timing always feels off. The lights come on a full minute before the heat adjusts, which defeats the whole purpose of a coordinated morning scene. I’m not sure if my hub is just slow or if I’ve set up the automation incorrectly.

I’ve been in the same boat. My lights come on a full minute before the heat changes and it undercuts the whole scene. I figured I’d miswired something, but even after redoing the routine it stays off.

I tried adding a small delay for the lights after the thermostat kicks in, like 20 or 30 seconds. It helped a bit, but the timing still wanders and the sequence isn’t reliable.

Could it be the real problem isn’t the timing so much as how the routine is built or where the commands come from? Maybe the devices have different update intervals or priorities?

I did a quick morning test and watched the logs; the lights fire first even when I expect the heat to go first. It’s frustrating and I’m unsure what to chase next.
