How can I start a daily meditation routine without my mind racing?
#1
I keep hearing that a daily meditation practice is the foundation for everything, but I honestly struggle to just sit there for five minutes without my mind racing to my to-do list. How do you move from knowing you should do it to actually making it a consistent, quiet part of your morning?

I did not know this would help. I started a tiny meditation routine, just one minute with a timer, and I told myself to only watch the breath. When the mind wandered I noted thinking and returned. It felt awkward and kind of silly, but the timer kept me from rambling.

Two minutes, then three, then four - I used a habit cue: after I pour coffee, I sit again. It’s messy, but it built a streak of almost a week.

Maybe the problem isn’t the practice but the to-do list itself. I tried a walking version between chores; I counted steps and checked in. That eased the pressure.

Not sure it’s the real thing for everyone; I still struggle and sometimes miss days; is this really the root problem?
