How can isolating triceps help me break through a bench press plateau?

I’ve been doing a push-pull-legs split for about six months, but I’ve hit a real plateau on my bench press. I’m wondering if my triceps are the weak link holding me back, since they give out before my chest feels fully worked. Has anyone else found that focusing on isolation work for that specific muscle group helped them finally get past a stubborn bench press stall?

I tried chasing the tris as the bottleneck for a couple cycles. Added two sets of cable pushdowns at the end of push days and threw in light skull crushers, nothing heavy. My triceps felt fried, but the bench press still stalled around the same weight. I did notice a tiny rep improvement on some sets, but the ceiling didn’t move much. Maybe the muscle just isn’t the only limiter.

I did a little isolation work and it felt nice to finish with the tris burning, but the numbers didn't race forward. It reminds me the lift is a mix of tech, setup, and CNS load. I’m leaning to something else being the real limiter, or maybe I’m just chasing a tide.

Could the real issue be grip width, thoracic extension, or scapular stability? I keep wondering if tris are the limiter or if something else is tipping first. It feels like chasing a single answer that's never quite there?

Last week I kept tempo on everything, did lighter sets with extra bracing and shorter rests, and I did notice my lockout feels a touch cleaner when I’m fresh. Still not a slam dunk, but it makes me wonder if the warmups matter more than I thought.
