How did the latest patch impact stealth detection and guard spotting?

I just downloaded the latest patch for the game, and I’m trying to figure out what they actually changed with the stealth mechanics. The notes mention "rebalanced detection thresholds," but after playing for an hour, it feels like guards spot me way faster in some areas but are almost blind in others.

I felt the same. In some halls guards snap to attention the moment you peek around a corner and in others they wander about like nothing changed.

My first run after the patch I saw two clear moments where I was spotted way faster than before and then a long stretch where nothing happened.

I kept one scene identical and got different results in two tries which makes me think the thresholds got shuffled not evenly.

Could be hidden layer like lighting or noise the game uses to judge stealth visibility but it is not obvious.

I did a quick check of a corridor and then a different room to compare the detection and it feels inconsistent.

Do you think the change is global or zone based and which areas feel most off to you?

I guess I am sort of hoping this is just a bug and not a fundamental change that makes stealth feel random
