How do i balance reducing screen time with staying in the loop on social apps?

I’ve been trying to cut back on my screen time, so I turned off all my Instagram notifications. Now I feel completely out of the loop with my friends’ lives and I’m worried I’m missing important things, but turning them back on means my phone buzzes constantly. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I left some alerts on but hid the lock screen previews, and set a daily check window.

FOMO is loud, but sometimes the real stuff isn't in the feed; it's the text from a friend about plans.

I tried moving it to a separate folder and turning off badges, and I still catch up later, not the end of the world.
