How do I break into a ranked Apex clan without it feeling transactional?

I’ve been trying to find a decent group to run ranked with in Apex, but every time I join a clan’s Discord, it feels like I’m walking into a high school cafeteria. The established squads are already tight and I’m just some random filling a slot. How do you actually break into that inner circle and get consistent games without it feeling so transactional?

Yeah I get that. I started by picking one person in the discord and inviting them to a couple of practice games with no pressure. We ended up building a small routine and not feeling like random fill anymore. It helped to have a clear time and show up consistently even if we were lousy at first.

I tried DMing two players after a match and offered to queue a few games together during a week. One agreed and we kept it going for a while. It felt more honest than hoping to slip into a clan chat, though we did hit days with long queue times.

Do you think the real problem is the vibe in the room or just not finding people who click with your playstyle?

Sometimes I drifted into other squads and then came back. The steady groups were the ones that treated practice like a small project not a lifetime contract. I even took a break when it got toxic and came back to find two new partners by luck.
