How do I fix Skyrim mod crashes with a new follower questline?

I finally got the Skyrim mod that adds the new follower with a fully voiced questline, but now my game crashes whenever I try to enter the specific tavern where she's supposed to be. I’ve run LOOT and cleaned the masters, but the problem persists. Has anyone else who installed this particular mod run into this, and did you figure out what was conflicting?

I ran into this last week. The crash happened as soon as I stepped into that tavern with the fully voiced follower quest active. It turned out another mod that edited that same tavern scene was the culprit; once I disabled it, the CTD stopped.

Mine came and went in waves. I tried loading a save without the follower, and the crash still showed up sometimes, so I started suspecting a script queue thing rather than a straight mod conflict.

I remember someone mentioning a load order quirk and an animation batch that fires when the tavern loads with a follower. Not sure if that helped, but I dropped a few mods touching interiors and the problem stopped showing up.
