How do i know the right moment to join a team rotation in ranked games?

I’m trying to get better at coordinating with my team during the mid-game in ranked, but I always seem to get caught out of position when we’re trying to secure a major objective. I hear the call to group up, but then I’m either clearing a wave or placing a ward and arrive too late, which starts a chain reaction of bad fights. How do you personally judge the right moment to drop whatever you’re doing and fully commit to the team’s rotation?

I go by map signs more than timers. If the objective looks contested and I have a clean path in or out I sprint with the group. If I am still farming a wave and not sure where their jungler is I stay put and trust my escape route.

One time I tried to time it by wave pace. I pinged and dashed toward the pit when our mid flashed for a fight but I forgot I had a long cooldown on my dash. We got picked apart. Since then I try to have a simple plan if the call comes the next five seconds are all about following the core tank and backing out if I cannot see a solid exit.

Have you tried locking in a single call and sticking to it even if it means letting a cannon wave slip?

Sometimes I wonder if the real issue is not the moment but my own pace with the team I hear the regroup call and start moving then miss a ward and end up late I blame timing but maybe I am the one not in sync
