How do I measure real impact of water activism beyond petition signatures?
#1
I’m trying to organize a local campaign focused on the right to clean water for a community facing contamination, but I’m hitting a wall on how to actually measure our impact beyond just counting petition signatures. How do you know if your activism is creating real, lasting change for people, or just making noise?

We tried to measure more than signatures We kept a simple log of tangible wins like households who got water tests and times when council meetings led to action It felt real when a small block got tested and officials followed up

I did a quick survey after a meeting but the data felt thin Maybe the real impact was the people who started calling the city about leaks and got a response

What if the real issue is not the contamination but trust or access to officials If we measure meetings attended and questions asked that might show momentum without promising results

One time I wandered away from the topic and thought about a garden project nearby Then we circled back to the issue when volunteers showed up For me the drift reminded me to watch for what people actually do after the buzz
