How do I stop the back gesture interfering when typing on Galaxy S24 One UI?

I just got the Galaxy S24 and I’m trying to get used to the new gesture navigation, but I keep accidentally triggering the back gesture when I’m typing, especially on the space bar. It’s really frustrating when I’m in the middle of a message and the app closes. Has anyone else had this problem with the latest One UI?

Happened to me a lot when I got the S24. I’m typing a message and then the back gesture just closes the app. So annoying.

I switched to One UI gesture navigation and fiddled with the sensitivity in the settings. It helped a bit, but it still sneaks in sometimes.

Do you think the problem is really the back gesture, or is something else causing the app to refresh mid sentence?

I tried a different keyboard layout for a day, and the space bar felt easier to hit, but the back gesture still showed up now and then. Not sure if that changes anything.
