How do i tell if my fatigue is fibromyalgia or something else?

I’m trying to figure out if my constant fatigue is just part of living with fibromyalgia or if it’s something separate I should bring up with my doctor. It’s gotten to the point where some days the brain fog is so thick I can’t even follow a simple recipe, and that’s never been my normal baseline.

Yeah I get that. Fatigue and brain fog can be a big part of fibromyalgia. Some days the fog sits so thick I can’t follow a recipe, and other days it’s barely there. It’s hard to tell what’s what.

I tried keeping a tiny journal for a couple weeks, noting sleep, meals, mood, and head fuzz. It didn’t fix it, but I did notice afternoons crash after long meetings or when I skipped a nap.

Once I asked my doc about it and they did a quick check for iron and thyroid; nothing dramatic, but my iron was a little low and that made things worse for a while. Getting that sorted helped a bit, not a cure though.

I keep worrying I’m chasing the wrong thing. Maybe it’s sleep, maybe hormones, maybe just stress piled up. I’m not sure if the fatigue is the main problem or a banner under everything else.
