How do you handle sentimental graphic tees when decluttering the closet?
#1
I’ve been trying to pare down my wardrobe to only what I truly wear and love, but I keep getting stuck on my collection of graphic t-shirts from past concerts and events. Each one feels like a memory I can’t just donate, but they’re taking up a whole drawer I’d like to reclaim. How have others handled this kind of sentimental clutter?

I did a brutal pass and kept only the tees I actually wore this season or that fit my vibe. The rest went to charity, and the drawer opened right up.

I took photos of the fronts, saved a digital album, and donated the shirts. It felt odd at first, like letting go of a memory, but the photos help.

A few favorite ones became pillow covers and a small quilt for the couch. It’s surprising how a memory sticks around without taking space.

I made a tiny memory box with 3-5 standout tees, and everything else faded away. The box sits on a shelf and nudges me when I reach for clothes.

Sometimes I wonder if the problem is really the closet or the way I remember things, y'know. The shirt isn't as valuable as the story.

I bought a cheap tote and used it to hold the 'best of' shirts I actually wear; the rest got donated.

Do you want to keep the memory or the garment?
