How fair is the final boss fight in the new expansion, or am I burnt out?

I just finished my first playthrough of the new expansion and I'm honestly torn about the final boss fight. The mechanics were visually stunning, but the difficulty spike felt artificial, like it relied too much on one-shot mechanics instead of testing the core combat loop we'd mastered for fifty hours. I can't decide if I'm just burnt out or if the encounter design was actually unfair.
