How is global interest in emergency preparedness changing across countries?
#1
I’ve been trying to track how often people search for information on emergency preparedness in different countries, but the data I find feels incomplete or contradictory. It makes me wonder if the global interest in this topic is actually rising, or if I’m just seeing more of it because I’m looking.

Yeah I tried a similar thing last year around emergency preparedness and the data felt patchy. Some countries show big spikes after events but the timing did not line up with real disasters. It makes me doubt the pattern you would expect.

One thing I did was compare search interest with news coverage in two countries. When a big news cycle ran the searches jumped for a week then faded.

Maybe the issue is not growing interest but how the data is collected. Some sources miss non English searches. Could that be the real limit?

Another angle I tried was looking at mobile search patterns and I kept hitting the same uncertainty. The numbers moved day to day and I could not tell if that was noise or a real signal. Still I kept thinking that maybe I am chasing the wrong thing and should step back to what counts as attention in the first place.
