How much has bus lane camera enforcement actually sped up my commute?

I’m trying to figure out if my city’s new bus lane camera enforcement is actually making my commute faster or if it just feels that way because I see fewer cars blocking the lane now. Has anyone else noticed a real change in their trip times since those cameras went live?

I started timing my commute with a simple timer for a couple of weeks after they rolled out the cameras. It did feel faster on some days, but other days the usual bottlenecks showed up and the clock didn’t move much. It’s hard to say it’s a real improvement, because the weather and school schedule still mess with things.

I drive the same route and I haven't seen a real drop in minutes. When I glance at the dashboard reading, it often stays roughly the same, and I still hit the same red flags where cars merge and slow things down.

I tried to compare bus and car speeds for a week, but the data was noisy. Some rides were quicker, others slower, and you end up guessing whether it’s the cameras or just random variation. I did notice that on rainy days the difference shrank a lot.

Question: have you checked any official data or dashboards from the city or transit agency to see if there’s an actual change, or is this all based on how it feels from your window?
