How to tell if our paid social ads build real audience loyalty or just clicks?
#1
I’m trying to figure out if our paid social ads are actually building any real audience connection or if we’re just buying clicks that don’t lead to loyalty. We see decent conversion numbers, but our community growth and repeat engagement feel flat, which makes me wonder if we’re missing the mark on genuine brand affinity.

I’ve been in that exact headspace. Our paid social drove decent conversions, but the traffic from those clicks didn’t show up as repeat visits. We tagged links, looked at 14 day return rates, and compared to organic; basically same pattern. A few retargeting tweaks were tried, but nothing stuck long enough to feel like loyalty.

We ran a small brand lift after a block of campaigns. Awareness nudged up a touch, but nothing on repeat purchases and community actions. We lowered frequency and shifted some spend to longer-form content; engagement wobbled and I’m not sure it translated to true loyalty.

Do you think the bottleneck is onboarding or product experience rather than the ads?

I tried leaning into community content—a few live sessions and user stories—and DM volume picked up a bit, but follower growth and repeat visits stayed stubborn. I keep thinking there’s a mismatch somewhere, or something else is pulling the latch.
