How will antibiotics affect my gut during a sinus infection?
#1
I’ve been prescribed a course of antibiotics for a stubborn sinus infection, and I’m worried about how it might affect my gut. I’ve heard these medications can really disrupt the natural balance down there, and I’m not sure what to expect or if there’s anything I should even be thinking about during the treatment.

Took antibiotics for a sinus thing last month. Day three I started noticing gut stuff—gas, a bit of loose stools, cramps. It was annoying and weird to link it to the meds, but it faded after the course ended.

I kept meals simple, skipped heavy dairy, and tried to drink water steadily. Some days the gut felt off, other days okay, and finishing the pills seemed to correlate with a bit more stability.

Do I really know if the gut stuff is from the meds, or could it be the infection, or stress? It made me doubt what I was feeling.

I heard probiotics might help, but I didn’t chase it hard. Mostly I just endured the bloat and tried to time meals around the pills.
