Should 24-hour notice be enough for a landlord to conduct a general inspection?

I’m trying to figure out if my landlord can legally enter my apartment for a “general inspection” with only 24 hours notice. My lease is vague and just says they need to provide “reasonable notice,” but this feels too short, especially since I work from home and it’s disruptive. I’m not sure what my rights are here regarding tenant privacy and advance notice.

In many places landlords have to give reasonable notice before entering, and 24 hours is a common baseline for non emergency inspections. The exact rules depend on your state or country, so the lease may not be the only guide.

I had a similar thing: the landlord asked for 24 hours. I work from home too, so I asked for a window around mid morning; they offered a two hour slot and confirmed via text.

Have you checked your local laws or the housing authority site to see what counts as reasonable?

If they keep pushing, I started logging dates and times, noted what was disrupted, and asked for written notice. It helped to have a paper trail.
