Should I bother with a full paint correction on my 10-year-old daily driver?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the hassle to get a full paint correction done on my ten-year-old daily driver. The clear coat is hazy and covered in light swirls, but the car is mechanically perfect and I plan to keep it for years. I just don’t know if spending that kind of money makes sense for a car that’s never going to be a showpiece.

I tried a handheld polish on my ten-year-old daily and it looked a lot better for a few months. The hazy finish and light swirls came back, and I started weighing coatings versus another round of cut and polish.

We did a full paint correction last year when I thought we’d keep the car forever. It looked great for six months, then more micro-scratches showed up. The shop quoted around 800 to 1500 depending on how deep things were and what they sealed it with afterward. For a daily driver you’re not planning to show off, the math didn’t feel worth it to me unless you’re chasing personal satisfaction every morning.

Could the real issue be the clear coat aging and UV fade rather than the swirls? If the coat is thin or soft, more correction work might just knock it back and speed up wear.

I drifted into thinking maybe the routine wash and towel habits are the real culprit, not the correction. When I tightened up washing, air drying, and avoiding harsh brushes, the look stayed better longer—even if not perfect.
