Should I go all digital on PS5 to get PlayStation Stars points?
#1
I just got a PS5 and I'm trying to decide if I should buy the disc version games or stick with digital. I keep hearing about the PlayStation Stars loyalty program, but I'm not sure if going all digital just for the points is worth losing the ability to resell or borrow games from friends.

I went with the disc version first. You can lend a disc to a friend and you can sell it later which has a small cash bump for the next buy. It isn't a huge windfall but it does help offset new games. The downside is you have to keep track of discs and the drive can be noisy when loading big titles.

I went digital for convenience and it is easy to switch between games especially when traveling or hosting long sessions. I do like the PlayStation Stars loyalty program and the occasional discount it brings but I do not rely on it to save on day one releases.

Do the loyalty points actually save money or is it mostly marketing?

I started digital for the simplicity then at times I wanted someone to borrow a game and felt the itch for a disc. It makes me wonder if I am chasing convenience or if I actually play more. Also I have thought about internet speeds and storage space when a big release drops.
