Should I keep my streaming service for comfort viewing if newer originals exist?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth keeping my subscription to a certain service that seems to have a lot of older shows and movies. I like having it for comfort viewing, but I’m not sure if that’s enough to justify the monthly cost when so many other platforms have newer originals.

Yeah I kept it for comfort viewing for a while, but I started tracking usage and it was only a couple hours a week, mostly old favorites. The subscription price started to feel steep for that payoff, so I kept wavering between canceling and sticking around for a bit longer.

I paused it for a month to see what I’d miss. Spoiler: not much, then I remembered there are a handful of shows I can't find elsewhere. It was enough to keep me from pulling the plug, but I was halfway ready to let it go.

I keep wondering if the real issue isn't the library but my habit of browsing until I feel cozy. I might be chasing a ritual more than a real need, and that makes the math fuzzy.

I keep waffling but I did set a short trial where I kept only the few comfort shows on my watchlist and turned off auto-renew. Still not sure if it was the right move, I might end up canceling or I might renew at a lower tier if a couple of new older titles drop in. Do you mostly want comfort shows or fresh originals?
