Should I pay for a celebrity photo op at the con, or skip it?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting a professional photo op with a celebrity guest at the upcoming con, but the price is pretty steep. I’m just not sure if the quick interaction and picture will actually feel memorable or if I’ll regret not just sticking with the autograph line.

I actually did the autograph line once and skipped the photo op because the price felt steep. The autograph moment felt warmer and more personal, and I still remember the exchange years later. The photo op looked slick, but the memory faded before I left the hall.

Maybe the bigger issue isn’t the memory at all but what you want to get out of the con that day. If you’re hoping for a story you can tell later, a quick pose might not scratch that itch; if you want a real, lingering moment with the guest, the line could be worth it.

I tried to do a quick cost comparison in my head once. The photo op would be pricier and the interaction shorter; the autograph gave me more time to chat and felt more human. I can't say which memory is actually worth it, it just left me unsure.

I drifted off topic once, thinking the photo would solve everything, then wandered into a panel that blew up my afternoon. When I came back, I realized memories come from group energy and tiny conversations, not just a single moment with a celebrity. Still not sure if that helps your call.
