I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting a professional photo op with the main cast at the big sci-fi convention this summer. The price is pretty steep, but I’m worried I’ll regret it forever if I don’t just go for it and get that one perfect memento.

I did a photo op last year. It was pricey, but the moment with the cast felt real, and that print still hits when I walk past the wall.

I passed on one at a similar con and still think about it; the line was long, the photographer rushed us, and the result didn’t land the way the hype did.

I treated it like a budget decision: set aside a chunk, weighed the timing with other merch, and when the day came we pulled the trigger. glad we did, but I wouldn’t do it if the money was tight.

Is the real problem the memory you want to hold onto, or is it the buzz of the convention?
