Should i pick a 27-inch 4k monitor or a 34-inch ultrawide for coding?

Feeding a family with different tastes is always a challenge. What are your best family dinner ideas that actually get eaten by everyone?

I need recipes that are relatively quick to make, reasonably healthy, and don't require making separate meals for kids and adults. I'm especially interested in one-pot recipes to minimize cleanup. What are your go-to family dinner ideas that have become regulars in your rotation?

I’m trying to decide between a 27-inch 4K monitor and a 34-inch ultrawide for my home office setup, and I keep going in circles. My main use is coding and having multiple windows open side-by-side, but I’m worried the ultrawide might feel too short vertically for reading long documents, even with the extra horizontal space.

I tried a 34 inch ultrawide for coding and it was glorious to have three editors and a terminal all visible at once. The width really helps, but after a while the vertical real estate felt lacking for long reads, so I kept shrinking side windows and scrolling a lot.

I kept a 27 inch 4K monitor and it felt sharp, the text stayed readable without zooming, and I didn't miss the vertical space for docs. It was easier on my neck too after a few weeks.

I bought the big one hoping for fewer window jumps, but I ended up hunching forward to read code comments at the bottom of a long file. It was more about how I read than the screen, I think.

I actually tried bumping the font size and line height in the editor, and mapped a couple of wide spreadsheets to the side. It helped a bit but not a clean solution.

Is the real issue the screen size or my multitasking approach—am I trying to fit too many apps at once instead of a smarter layout?

I ended up adding a second monitor for documents and used the primary for code; not perfect but reading long stuff got easier and I could keep code windows docked. It didn’t solve everything, but it reduced the wobble.
