Should I rely on microtransit for last-mile commute with unpredictable wait times?

I’ve been trying to use my city’s new on-demand microtransit service for my last-mile commute from the train station, but the wait times are so unpredictable. Sometimes a van is there in five minutes, other times the app says it’s a twenty-five minute wait and I just end up walking anyway.

I tried it a few mornings and the wait kept changing I got a van in five minutes once and the next day it said twenty five minutes and I walked home

It feels like the app shows long waits when demand is high and there is no steady pattern I kept thinking maybe the drivers are juggling other runs

I started noting the times of day when it seems quicker and I booked a ride just after a train lets people off and it helped a couple of days until it did not

Maybe the real problem is not the wait time but the route coverage I wonder if the system is truly covering my station area?
