Should I switch to a time-of-use ev charging plan for a 60-mile daily commute?

I just got my first EV and I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle charging for a daily commute that's about 60 miles round trip. My utility offers a time-of-use plan with a super off-peak window, but I'm not sure if switching is worth it for my driving pattern or if I should just stick with my standard outlet for now.

I signed up for the time-of-use plan last month. The car mostly charges overnight, and I didn’t notice a dramatic bill drop, but it did feel smoother since it happens in the off peak. Not a huge difference, but small wins add up when you’re charging every night.

I stuck with the regular outlet for a while. It charges fine and I didn’t fuss with schedules. The daily commute is manageable, and sometimes I top up mid day if it’s been windy or cold.

A friend tried TOU and was chasing pennies but it wasn’t worth it with their odd hours. For me the timing didn’t line up with when I actually parked at home.

Do you know your actual daily kWh usage and how it lines up with the off peak hours?
