Should I switch to managed cloud hosting to fix slow conversions?

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the cost to switch from a standard hosting plan to a managed cloud solution for my online store. The traffic spikes during promotions are becoming a real problem, causing slowdowns that I’m worried are hurting conversions.

We switched last quarter after a big promo and the cloud kept the site fast. Costs went up, sure, but load times dropped from around 4 seconds at peak to about 1.2, and conversions crept up.

I tried a managed cloud once and felt the price tag didn't justify it for our size; autoscaling helped a bit but we still hit bottlenecks around the DB during promos.

Profiling showed most slowness wasn't the servers but images and heavy bundles; moving to aggressive caching shaved a chunk, cloud or not.

We toyed with a hybrid: core shop on standard, promos served from a burstable CDN/node; uptime improved during spikes, but it added complexity and cost.

Is the real issue the promos themselves or the hosting?
