Should I trim cheek hair more often to balance my beard shape?
#1
I’ve been trying to figure out how to keep my beard looking neat between trims, but the hair on my cheeks just grows so much faster than the rest. It throws the whole shape off and makes it look messy in just a few days. I’m not sure if I should be trimming that area more often or if there’s a better way to manage the growth pattern.

I used to fight that same issue. I started trimming the cheek area a little shorter between full trims and kept a softer curve with thinning shears instead of a blunt line. It helped the sideburns fill in more evenly and the shape stayed cleaner for a few days, though I had to dial in the guard length by trial and error.

Another trick I tried was combing through every morning and giving that corner a tiny snip when it started to stick out. It bought me a day or two, but I still needed midweek touch ups.

Is it possible the real issue isn't the speed of growth but where the cheek line sits or how the jawline shapes the rest? Maybe the problem is the shape, not the growth rate.

Some days I drift and start thinking about other stuff, but a little balm or wax did help mellow the edge for a day or two before I reset the trim plan for the beard.
