Should the mayor's pocket watch be a continuity error or twin theory?
#1
I just rewatched the finale and I’m stuck on the mayor’s pocket watch. We see it clearly at the charity gala, but in the scene where he’s arguing with the commissioner, his waistcoat is unbuttoned and it’s gone. The timeline doesn’t add up for him to have lost it between those two moments, so was it a simple continuity error or a deliberate clue about the twin theory?

My take is continuity issue, not a clue. The waistcoat switch looks like a wardrobe mismatch from different takes.

I rewatched the two scenes back to back and paused where the gala shot ends and the argument starts. In one frame the watch chain is visible, in the next it’s gone.

Could it be a deliberate clue about the twin theory?

There was a moment where I drifted off thinking about prop boxes and how many copies of the watch they had, but it keeps snapping back to the coat. Anyway, it might be a simple error.

I’m not convinced either way; I didn’t notice it in person, and the timeline feels off, but I don’t want to claim anything firm.

One concrete thing I did was note the wardrobe notes for the actor and saw no mention of a missing watch, so I suspect it’s not a planned reveal.
