Should we splurge on a main cast photo op at the con?
#1
I’m trying to decide if it’s worth getting a professional photo op with the main cast at the upcoming con. The price is pretty steep, but I’m worried I’ll regret it forever if I don’t. Has anyone else been on the fence about this kind of big-ticket memento?

I did a photo op with the main cast last year. It was pricey and the line dragged on forever. The photographer was a bit rushed, and the photo looked fine but not magical. I still value having the memory, but I could have spent that money on something more lasting later.

I passed on it a couple of times, and then I heard people talking about their pics for ages after. Part of me wishes I had pulled the trigger, part of me is glad I didn’t. The con has plenty of moments, and that one photo felt like a tiny trophy.

I did something smaller instead: a quick chat and a selfie with a cast member after a panel, then I used the rest of the budget on a few prints and a badge. It was more flexible and the memory still lands when I wear the badge.

Maybe the real problem isn’t the price but whether you actually care about that moment enough to rely on a photo to remember it later?

If it matters to you now, go for it. If not, skip it and trust your gut, the con will give you other tiny wins.
