What’s the best exhaust option for my Street Triple: full system or slip-on?

I’m trying to decide if I should get a full system or just a slip-on for my Street Triple. I love the stock sound, but I really want that deeper tone and a bit more mid-range pull without making it obnoxious for my neighborhood rides.

I tried a slip-on last season on my Street Triple. It did give a deeper tone without turning the bike into a banshee, and the midrange felt a tad meatier without changing the idle or fueling much. Still kept it neighbor-friendly around town.

I went with a full system after about six months. It woke the midrange more, but it also woke the neighborhood complaints and a bit more heat and money. If you want the maximum gain and don’t mind more volume, it’s the cleanest route, but you’ll likely need a map.

Maybe the real problem isn't the exhaust at all. The bike is crisp in stock form, but if you're not happy with lope or throttle response, it could be ride mode, gearing, or the exhaust drone at certain rpms. It might be worth trying a different ride mode first.

I keep wondering if you actually want more midrange or you’re chasing a tone that fits your neighborhood. It might be worth testing a mild tune with the stock can first, just to see where the real issue sits. What do you think?
