I don’t want to just draw names from a hat, but the online random picker tools I’ve looked at feel a bit shady or complicated to verify. How do you all handle the selection process for your community events?

First time I did a giveaway I did a quick live screen share and spun a wheel with every eligible comment. I kept a log of who qualified and pulled the winner on camera. The moment mattered more than the math, and the replay helped people see it wasn’t rigged.

I tried a tool that prints seed and timestamp and then posts a verifiable result, but a lot of followers asked for a simpler proof. So I switched to just letting folks DM entries, then a trusted neighbor in the comments chose from the verified pool. It felt more human, even if it wasn’t perfect.
