What’s the realistic timeline for Artemis III lunar landing with Starship HLS?
#1
I’m trying to understand the timeline for the Artemis III mission, specifically the lunar landing part. I keep reading about the need for a fully operational Starship Human Landing System, but the development and testing schedule for that vehicle seems incredibly ambitious. It makes me wonder if the 2026 date is still realistic, or if we’re looking at a longer wait.

I am not sure the twenty six target sticks. The full Starship HLS has to be flight ready and the testing cadence is brutal. It feels like every milestone slips a bit and that causes a ripple effect

People I know in the industry say the plan depends on a string of hardware and software tests that keep slipping It is easy to lose faith when a warm start becomes a hard restart and the date keeps drifting

Some days I tried to chart a realistic cadence and found the milestones stretch into months I even started thinking about crew training and habitat readiness for a first lunar step It somehow comes back to the same problem though the clock still ticks

Is the real issue the ship or the mission timing?
