I’ve been in a great online group for years, but lately I feel like I’m just a username that people react to without really seeing me. The conversations stay surface-level even when I try to be vulnerable. Has anyone else felt this shift from feeling like a real part of a community to just being another digital presence?

I know that feeling. After years in a group, I started posting with softer intentions and not just to get a reaction, but it still felt like shouting into an empty chat.

Sometimes I catch myself blaming the others, but then I think maybe the space changed, or the platform nudges people toward quick hits rather than real talks.

I did a tiny experiment: I asked a concrete question and kept a rough note of who replied and how long it took; it didn’t flip everything, but some folks did show up differently.

Do you think the problem is the space, or is it me trying to fit into a machine that wasn't built for real talk?
