What can I do to get my kids to laugh at Looney Tunes?

I’ve been trying to introduce my kids to the classic Looney Tunes cartoons, but they just don’t find them funny. It’s a bit disappointing because I remember laughing so hard at these shorts as a kid. Maybe the pacing or the style of humor just doesn’t connect with them the same way.

One thing I tried was letting them pick a favorite character and we started with clips that had a lot of action before the talking stuff.

A different approach was to watch three shorts in a row and then pause to ask what surprised them or if they would have reacted the same in real life.

Is it possible the problem isnt the jokes but how we present them maybe a short intro about the era helps or a slower pace before the big chase?

I kept showing Looney Tunes now and then and the laughs never matched mine they would giggle at a single sound effect and drift away the next clip would click and they would seem bored again it feels random and I am not sure what to do next.
