What can i do to grow my educational art audience and boost engagement?

I’ve been trying to build a consistent audience for my educational art videos, but my growth has completely stalled. I’m putting in the hours on content, yet I can’t seem to get that initial spark of community engagement that turns viewers into regulars.

Yeah I did the same for a year, posting three times a week with the same intro and visuals. The views hovered in a narrow range and the comments stayed sparse. It started to feel like yelling into a classroom with no one answering. I kept going out of stubbornness more than strategy.

I tried a weekly live Q and a few viewer shoutouts in the videos. Watch time nudged up for a couple of weeks, and there were more comments, but the subscriber line stayed flat. It didn't convert, and I felt drained by the inconsistent returns.

Maybe the problem isn’t engagement at all but discovery. I keep thinking I’m talking to the same folks who already found me, and new viewers don’t stumble in. Could the real issue be the algorithm rather than the content?

I once swapped in a rough thumbnail to test if energy beats polish, and then I drifted into a long tangent about a favorite artist and came back to the same questions. Nothing changed in the numbers, but it did feel different in the moment. Maybe I’m missing something bigger than how I edit.
