What can I do when muting for a healthier timeline still brings extreme posts?

I’ve been trying to cut back on my screen time, but every time I mute or unfollow someone for being negative, the algorithm just shows me someone even more extreme. It feels like the platform is actively working against my attempt to curate a healthier feed. Has anyone else hit this wall when trying to clean up their timeline?

Yep, I hit that wall. I mute a bunch of negativity, unfollow a few, even took a day off, and the next batch still shoved something louder and more extreme in my face. Feels like the app is chasing engagement and nothing I do actually changes the feed.

I tried setting little boundaries—check in windows, not constant scrolling—and it helped a little, but then the outraged posts came back after a quiet moment. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or just how the feed rebalances.

Is the real issue the algorithm or am I chasing a healthier feed in the wrong place?

I logged out for a weekend and came back with a calmer mix, but the next week it snapped back. Not sure if that was real change or memory of my past behavior.
