What caused my search history to shift toward diy and home maintenance?

I’ve noticed my own search history has become almost entirely about practical DIY fixes and home maintenance over the last year. Has anyone else seen their searches shift heavily toward self-reliance and away from things like entertainment or travel?

Yep, my history drifted the same way last year. I started bookmarking weatherproofing tips, energy bills, and patching leaks instead of concert tickets. Ironically I ended up buying a cordless drill, a stack of caulking tubes, and a basic home repair book. Not glamorous, but the relief of knowing I can handle things at home stuck around longer than any vacation plan.

I can't be sure it's a trend for everyone, maybe it's just life stage. I still crave a trip or a show, but my search results feel like they're nudging me toward projects. I bought a router to fix a draft and then dropped it after a week because the project snowballed. So I bounce between both, but the DIY stuff sticks.

Do you think this shift is the real problem or just the algorithm playing with your search history?

I notice a sense of control when I finish a repair, but it also comes with anxiety about data and costs. I measured my energy savings after sealing a window and it barely paid for the caulk, but the pride stuck.

Sometimes I drift off topic too, like I look up a recipe while waiting for a part to arrive, then loop back to insulation. The whole thing feels messy, not a clean story.
