What causes coil whine on a 4070 Super during high fps?

I just finished my first build and I’m getting this weird, high-pitched coil whine from my new GPU when the frames shoot up in a menu or loading screen. It’s a 4070 Super, and the sound is really distinct even through my headphones. I’m not sure if this is something I should be worried about long-term or if it’s just a normal quirk I have to live with.

I had something like that on a build recently where the coil whine showed up during loading and big fps spikes It was loud enough through headphones to notice but it never affected performance

I tried capping the frame rate a bit and dropping the GPU power limit and the whine faded a little

It may be annoying but a lot of people see coil whine on new cards and in many cases it does not indicate damage and can stay constant or fade over time

If it stays loud I would consider reaching out to support or testing with another power supply to rule out the rest of the setup
