What could cause fasting glucose to rise after years of stable type 2 diabetes?
#1
I’ve been managing my type 2 diabetes for years, but lately my fasting glucose numbers are creeping up even though I haven’t changed my diet or medication. My doctor mentioned the possibility of insulin resistance getting worse, and it’s got me worried about what’s happening under the surface. Has anyone else had this happen after a long period of stability?

I have seen folks stay steady for years and then fasting numbers drift up after a round of stress or illness, and that surprise stuck with me.

It makes sense that insulin resistance could creep up over time and show up as higher fasting glucose even if diet and meds stay the same.

I tried keeping a daily log of fasting numbers for a month and noticed that a bad night sleep or a late workout would tilt the reading.

Do you think the issue could be sleep or stress more than a change in biology?
