I’ve been dealing with these persistent, rough patches of skin on my elbows for months now, and my regular moisturizer just isn’t making a dent. A friend of mine tried gentle exfoliation once a week with a mild acid and then sealed it with a heavy cream. It helped the surface feel smoother for a while, but the patch kept coming back in the colder months.

Maybe it’s not just dry skin. It could be a different skin texture issue that behaves the same way, you know the type that doesn’t listen to regular moisturizers.
