What do inner ear crystals mean when I have sudden vertigo?
#1
I’ve been getting these sudden, intense dizzy spells where the room feels like it’s spinning for a minute or two, usually when I turn over in bed or look up. My doctor mentioned it could be related to a problem with the inner ear crystals, but I’m worried it might be something more serious like the start of migraines or a neurological issue.

That spinning thing can be scary. I had something similar and a doctor mentioned inner ear crystals as a likely cause. It would flare up with certain head moves and then settle after a minute or two.

I keep wondering if it could be migraines or something neurological too. Do you know if an MRI or a neurology consult changes anything? I got reassurance, but it still felt unsettled when it happened.

I started keeping a simple log of when it happens, what I was doing, and how I was feeling. It mostly showed up when I turned over in bed or looked up, and not every night which felt odd. The ENT said it might be BPPV and suggested some maneuvers, but I didn’t run with them right away.

One time I got dizzy after standing up too quickly while making coffee and it turned into a short loop of spinning. It scared me more than it hurt, and I paused, cooled down, and kept a close eye on symptoms. I still wonder if dehydration or fatigue was the real trigger that day.
