What do you think of Astral Chain sequel art: bold direction or straying?

I just saw the leaked concept art for the new Astral Chain sequel, and the setting looks completely different, like some kind of prehistoric era with those weird creature designs. I’m trying to figure out if this is a bold new direction that could work or if it’s straying too far from what made the original’s cyberpunk vibe so special.

Saw the leaked concept art too. The prehistoric vibe and those creature designs feel off from the neon city I remember, but a bold pivot can turn into something cool if it still leans on the parts that worked.

I actually played the original last year and the urban cyberpunk chaos stuck with me—the way the city breathed and the partner combat tempo. If the sequel tilts prehistoric, I’ll need a strong throughline to justify the shift and keep that rhythm intact.

Is this really the core world or just a backstory angle? I keep wondering if it’s meant for a spin off or a big tonal shift that still folds back to the familiar beats.

Part of me wonders if concept art blurs the line between art direction and marketing. I’ve seen wild early art in other games that never lands in the final cut, and that makes me take a breath before judging the game’s feel.

I tried to imagine how the combat would play with dinosaurs stomping around; the pacing would have to shift but stay tight. I’m not sure yet, the jury’s still out and I’m quietly hoping the first 30 minutes prove me wrong.
