What do you think of the new superhero trailer: stunning visuals but same plot?

I just saw the new trailer for the next big superhero movie, and I’m honestly a bit torn. The visuals look absolutely stunning, but the plot summary they revealed feels like a complete rehash of the last three films in the franchise. I’m starting to wonder if I’m just getting tired of the genre, or if this one really is playing it too safe. Has anyone else had this feeling after watching the preview?

I get that gut punch too. The lighting and visuals are wild, but the plot beats felt familiar from the trailers for the last few films. I left the theater half excited, half relieved that I won’t be surprised by the ending.

Maybe I’m just tired of this whole cycle. I still love big set pieces, but the sameness wears on me. I skipped any follow up trailers and just waited to hear from friends who saw it.

A buddy and I actually tried to map it out after watching; we noted three recycled tropes and one new visual gag. It was telling, but not decisive. Still bought a ticket, because the spectacle might surprise me in the theater.

I started drifting to think about the marketing machine, the color grade, the way the score hits at exactly the same places. But maybe the real problem is something else entirely, like our attention span or the hunger for franchise comfort food?
